Excess is the amount of money you contribute towards a claim.
For Single Tech Cover, the amount depends on what you have insured and why you are claiming.
For Multi Tech Cover, which insures unlimited eligible devices, the amount depends on the claim type.
- Damage: £75
- Theft and loss of mobiles and laptops: £125
- Theft or loss of all other eligible tech: £100
If you have an EE Pay monthly device and have Full or Damage Cover, or Full and Damage Cover with AppleCare Services, the excess depends on your device and cover level. Find out more about excess and charges.
You’ll be made aware of any exclusions when you get a quote. Some examples are:
- Your gadget is more than 5 years old.
- Your device was repaired using non-genuine parts.
- Your device is not covered for cosmetic dents, scratches, or other marks.
For Multi Tech Cover insurance only, some examples are:
- You do not have a valid proof of ownership, or the device was not purchased new from a VAT registered UK retailer, or refurbished from the original retails or UK Mobile Network.
- Your device was purchased outside of the UK.
Single and Multi Tech Cover are monthly subscriptions. You will pay each month from the date of purchase, until the policy expiry or until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time and you’ll still be able to make a claim up until the day before the next payment would have been taken.
If you fail to make payments, your cover will be cancelled.
If you have insurance for an EE pay monthly device, the cost will be added to your monthly bill. Your first payment might be higher than usual because it can include the remainder of the current month plus the next full month.
